Cosplay

  1. Cosplayers are to collect their tags issued by I’ve Anime! management and wear it at all times when cosplaying. Untagged cosplayers are regarded as a suspicious character and violating the rules and regulations and may be asked to leave the premises by The Spring security.
  2. Cosplayers who are not entering any competition or show are also to register themselves to identify themselves as not being a suspicious character.
  3. Cosplay contest registration dateline is one week before the event (11th July 2008). There will be no charges to enter. Cosplayers who are not participating in shows or contests will have no time limit for registration.
  4. All weapons or weapon-like items brought to the convention must be fake and is a part of the attendee’s costume.
  5. No sharp edged items/objects are allowed unless approved by I’ve Anime! management and attendees should handle the object with utmost care and do not injure others either unintended or intended.
  6. Live metal/steel objects (katanas, swords, knifes, blades, or any other objects which falls in the same group, whether sheathed or not), guns and gun replicas (including toys) are not permitted/allowed unless approved by I’ve Anime! management.
  7. Allowed prop weapons such as plastic weapons or wooden swords must not be drawn/used unless posing for a photo or in competition. It may scare other attendees and violation of this rule may result in confiscation of the item and/or further action depending on the severity of the offense.
  8. Your approved props will be listed on your tag to make others (especially security personnel) aware that your prop is safe and approved.
  9. Cosplay contestants will be judged on costume appearance, effort, and stage presence. No skits are required as there will be a separate competition especially for skits.
  10. Skits cannot contain profanity, racism, political and/or sensitive issues, or overly sexual content (no yaoi, yuri, kissing scenes, stripping, nudity, sex, and etc.). Please be reminded there are kids attending the convention.
  11. Please submit a full script of your skit and/or song (BGM)/video along with your application to be evaluated by the skit competition committee if it is appropriate. You may choose to email to: visualmedia@iveanime.org. Remember to label properly.
  12. If the use of any media (audio/video) is needed along with your performance, please brief the committee in-charge and there will be a run-through the day before the event and participants are required to attend. If you cannot manage to attend, I’ve Anime! cannot guarantee your performance will be smooth.
  13. Stage participants are required to be on standby 10 minutes before the show/contest.
  14. Cosplayers have a time limit of 15 minutes per person on stage and may use the time to introduce yourself and your character, explain your costume and/or do a skit which is completely optional and will not affect scoring unless you enter the skit competition.
  15. No messy substances will be allowed on the stage including fake blood, fake vomit, confetti, splashing water, and etc. If it comes on stage with you, it leaves with you.
  16. Battle” skits performed on stage must not endanger the safety of other attendees or risk damaging equipments. Please use the stage access wisely.
  17. Rules regarding costume/attire and weapons apply to the cosplay contest.
  18. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations may result in disqualification or forfeiting your prize(s).
  19. If contestants who won a prize but does not show up to claim it within a certain limit of time allocated by the MC, etc: Calling your name 4 times, we will consider that you have forfeited your prize(s). We do not approve of you sending representatives/proxies to collect your prize(s).
  20. A letter/email will be sent back to you after your application (for any application) is approved or denied after submission.
